Check this out. I had always meant to read more about this place as it's said to have been the first night club as we know them today. It's amazing to me this happened in New York where you can't even have loud music past 3am now and the scene is very stale and introverted.
I read up and found this great documentary about the Garage and the Loft, another really important place.
