DISKUSSION: reflections on the dreamer..?

Well, the most-anticipated techno album of the year didn't have that much techno on it did it?
BUT: i do think the Kollektiv Turmstrasse album is excellent, all the same.
A really varied album: there’s tracks that sound like Burial but with a bit more of a game plan, a couple that remind me of an edgier-sounding Royksopp and some jazzglitches I could listen to all day...

-really interested to hear your thoughts (?) x

  1. Schwindelig has some incredible Enya vibes going on.

  2. I'm not mad about it at all. I knew it wasn't going to be what we were expecting from a few weeks ago and thought it would be a lot more interesting than this. That whole glitch knee jerk IDM business is never my thing and I honestly think the production is a bit too clinical and loud for what they are trying to achieve.

I am trying really hard to like it and I don't.

In all the other tracks we love there is something unique which almost seperates them from the genre of tech house / techno, something raw in the production or just dreamy progressive melodies, but this entire album seems to be tied together by the same theme in every track, which I just don't dig.

I'm going to keep trying though.

    Shame.
