Immer 3 - discuss...

This 4th track (Tim Paris -Edges of Commotion) from immer 3 is particularly great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAuN3bgUjJQ
drops on 2.35. gets groovy with LCD farm yard perc. Absolutely love it.

The label on the vinyl says it takes inspiration from this weird bit of [mike oldfield-esque, steve reich-esque (thoughts on that?)] post modern jazz shit which you might also like to listen to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFE3140Lhw0&feature=related
...and for further reading... our old pal J-Dilla had his fill too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdIXgkqPR2k never one to miss a good sample eh?

  2. How nerd are we supposed to go with this? I love this – I think this is a perfect example of what MircoHouse is? Reminds of me of Isolee and other tracks of Ata’s Klang/Ongaku/Playhouse labels (which originally released easy lee).

Whilst on the topic of Immer 3 - I love the middle section, the first 20 mins are a waste of time as are the last 20mins – why couldn’t he just enter with a vibe keep it like that instead of this emo electro cruds? The middle section is TOP selection.

This tune (and the one afterwards) were both played at that Michael Mayer night - The second of these tracks I think is super massive too. A real Sheridan banger (I don’t often put those two words together).

  3. That Tim Paris tune is a killer, I had to get a full version soon after first hearing it:
    http://www.filefactory.com/file/b2becdd/n/Edges_Of_Commotion_-_Original_Mix.mp3
But then I realised that M.M. pretty much plays the whole tune less 14secs.

Benji, I have to disagree with thee. Where is this "emo electro cruds" you talk about? Apart from the very first and last track, where M.M. gets us going and leaving respectively with two very appropriate chill-out tunes, all I hear is a delightful selection of sexy/chilled/funky techno,tech/deep/house with the occasional eclectic vocal. Never in all its 76min life do I feel that this mix is a waste of time. Continuous top-draw vibes.
